An unusual Anglo-Indian style George III Ribbed Tea Caddy.
An octagonal shaped Tea Caddy in an unusual tented form, edged in bone with ebony ribbed panels to the exterior and a raised top lid. The front has a small shaped bone key profile. The interior of the tea caddy is faced in bone and contains traces of the original silver foil lining for keeping tea fresh. The caddy comes complete with a working lock and tasselled key.
The Tea Caddy dates to the late 18th century Georgian period during the reign of George III Circa 1790.
