Connolly Picks #6

Ordovas, at 25 Saville Row in Mayfair, has an outstanding reputation for featuring the finest 20th century art within a museum-quality exhibition programme.
Connolly Picks #6

The shows at Ordovas, three of which are held each year, are erudite in tone, and scrupulously researched by founder Pilar Ordovas, a record-breaking art dealer responsible for many of the highest profile sales of the last 15 years. Before setting up her eponymous private gallery in 2011, she worked as international director at Christie’s for 13 years and directed Gagosian Gallery in London for two.

Ordovas collaborates internationally with prominent museums, institutions and estates to exhibit works that have sometimes not been seen in decades. Her meticulously presented shows at Ordovas have included In The Studio, examining Lucian Freuds’ painting Rose, with photographs taken during its creation in the artist’s studio, as well as Alabaster, exhibiting the sculptures of Eduardo Chillida, Anish Kapoor, Henry Moore and Isamu Noguchi.
