Petersham Nurseries’ two locations, in Richmond and Covent Garden, are much loved meeting points of Italian heritage, seasonal food which has been responsibly sourced and carefully prepared simply to enhance and celebrate its flavour, homewares and antiques - all set amongst an abundance of sunlight and lush, fragrant plants.
Founded by the Boglione family in 2004, in a plant nursery next to their Richmond home, the original site began as a tea house and plant nursery, which were soon joined by Petersham Nurseries Café, set in a glasshouse, furnished with Indian tables and chairs, beneath a canape of bougainvillea and fragrant jasmine. The shop’s ever-changing inventory ranges from Murano glassware and Genovese chandeliers to antique furniture chosen for its unique character and understated quality.
The second space in Covent Garden comprises two restaurants – La Goccia, and the Petersham – as well as a deli, florist, wine cellar, and shop. La Goccia offers delicious Italian Cicchetti and a selection of cocktails, while the Petersham serves an a la carte menu composed of English and Italian flavours, in an art and flower-filled setting inspired by the Bogliones’ home in Richmond.
The shop, housed in a Grade II listed building also benefits from natural light through its Victoria Atriums. A second emporium filled with collections of unique, hand-crafted and antique pieces and unusual gifts, interspersed with leafy house plants and beautiful flowers.
