A hip wallet with a coin purse compartment, a classic zip hip wallet with credit cards, a breast pocket wallet, a folding wallet for cards only … it went on and on.
Men, in particular, would spend hours browsing the different types of wallets and would usually buy a classic hip credit card wallet which they would keep for the next twenty years. In our experience customers replace their cars quicker than their wallets!
When we opened the Clifford Street store I chose four or five styles but as customers came back and proudly showed me their original Connolly wallets.. I realised we needed to dispense with the myriad versions and go for one piece that fitted in your pocket, that took credit cards, that had an opening for notes and receipts but really was much less formal than the requirements of two decades earlier.
So we designed the Driver Wallet – elegant, practical and long-serving. The older it gets the vegetable tanned leather polishes up and starts to mould to your monetary requirements and trousers.
The Driver Wallet is a new take on the original Connolly credit card case, it features the Connolly trademark metal work hex rivets and hand stitching detail. With six credit card slots, two hidden pockets and a bi fold central section for notes and receipts, the wallet is lightweight and versatile to use and designed to fit in a back pocket.
