Connolly are delighted to present Francis at Connolly, a selection of works by Jean-Baptiste Besançon, Mari-Ruth Oda, Matthew Johnson, Paul Philp, Spencer Fung and Yoon-Young Hur.
The collaborative group show – running from November 2019 to the first week of January 2020 – has been curated by Isabel Ettedgui, Owner of Connolly, who selected the works from Francis Gallery’s roster of artists.
Pure white ceramic sculptures by Mari-Ruth Oda appear alongside jars and vessels in traditional Korean shapes by Yoon-Young Hur and Kim Sang-In, and the timeless, enigmatic ceramics of Paul Philp.
The works are interspersed among elegant side tables, comfortable sofas, and other art objects, bathed in light from the salon’s tall sash windows. Along the wood-panelled walls, the film photographs of Matthew Johnson are engaged in a dialogue with the bold colours of Jean-Baptiste Besançon’s canvasses, and the organic textures of Spencer Fung’s works on paper.

The collection of work by the Francis artists creates a dynamic and visually arresting display on the first floor of Connolly’s store.
Original Works and Limited Edition Prints are available from £550 at Connolly – 4 Clifford Street, London W1 – until 7th January 2020
