Celebrating Horsepower
To celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Horse and Connolly's motoring heritage I thought I would like to show off the automotive excellence and heritage of Connolly. From the late 1890s, Connolly has been associated with horsepower, from saddlery and boots to coaching hoods. From George V’s Coronation Coach through to the first Rolls-Royce, the first Jaguars, Bentleys, Aston Martins including the famous James Bond DB4, Ferrari and the classic E-Type Jaguar. Jonathan Connolly still holds the archive of all the marques the leather was chosen to upholster, which makes it equally popular with classic car enthusiasts and restorers as we can match the original leather and colour of your classic.
This film comes from the brilliant O'Rourke team of trimmers and restorers in Kent considered by Octane magazine as ‘the best in the business’ and who have been working with our leather on some of the world's most special cars. True craftsmanship and skill and quality deserving of these thoroughbred beauties.
Today Connolly leather is made very much bespoke with specific projects in mind, with a special made to order department at Ferrari and found on all Singer Porsches, tailored to each client's personal choices and taste. This allows us to work only with the very best and most sustainable quality hides. And this year we launched our Connolly Driving Loafer the ultimate horsepower accessory, designed by our brilliant friend Alvaro Gonzalez. You can also celebrate the New Year with a piece of Connolly luggage specially created to fit into your motor from the 48 Hour Case to the classic Sports Grip.
